According to a survey published by the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) on Wednesday, 55 percent of Tea Party movement supporters think people should be allowed to bring concealed guns to church.
The gun toting Tea Partiers were followed by 38 percent of Republicans, 17 percent of Independents and nine percent of Democrats

(13,200 posts)The new poll released Wednesday by the Public Religion Research Institute and conducted in partnership with Religion News Service found 76 percent of respondents said concealed weapons should not be allowed in houses of worship, while 20 percent disagreed.
On the general issue of gun control, the poll shows 52 percent favor passing stricter laws, while 44 percent are opposed.

Leaving them out in the car doesn't help you defend your fambly against your fellow parishioners who bring them in.

(6,268 posts)If a church wants to allow guns, fine. If a church wants to ban guns, fine. I don't think the law should micromanage how owners of private/commercial property decide to handle the issue of legally carried guns on their own land/property. If local government want to ban guns on gov't property (schools, police stations, court houses, etc...) then that's fine too.

(2,627 posts)what everybody else has. And just like mr. avid hunter ryan says, drop that pesky requirement to have to wait 72 hours to get your gun to 24 hours. Heck, anybody wanting to buy a gun needs it now, not three days from now - you never know who might be coming to church.
