So, the trump*s can't be bothered to pray along with 'The Apostles Creed'??

The camera covered that row and everyone was praying, EXCEPT, from what I saw, for the two on the end. Perhaps they don't know the words? No doubt they are on the program. Perhaps they can't read? Perhaps they are afraid of a lightning strike?,

Which he does. It is not voluntary for those of that faith. Recited every Sunday in many Christian churches.

Just imagine the moral outrage if Obama didn't read along with that prayer during a funeral.

I’m shocked that someone who evangelicals uphold as a Christian did not even attempt to recite it. Growing up, we recited it every Sunday. I now belong to a much more liberal church and we rarely recite it. To this day, I know it from memory.

and I was raised in a fundamentalist baptist home, church services 3 times a week and other activities nearly every day. I went all 4 years of high school to a private christian school. I can recite the hell out of the Lord's Prayer but I didn't know one word of the creed. I knew of the term but we never said it and I don't recall any lessons on it.

I was raised in a "mixed" denominational house...the Southern Baptist's never mentioned "The Apostles Creed".

from killing babies. Church attendance is not mandatory. In fact, avoiding the sins of pride, anger, gluttony, sloth, envy and greed isn't mandatory either. They are happy to turn a blind eye to all of that as long as Trump appoints judges likely to overturn Roe v. Wade and protect their guns.

Also, the fundies think Episcopalians are heretics.

Never saw it in any Southern Baptist, Baptist, or unaffiliated fundamentalist churches.

I vaguely remember hearing it before. I've been an atheist for 40 years but I go to the grandkids' Catholic school plays, masses, and milestone events. I sit quietly, don't pray, don't kneel.

Doofus McDipshit claims to believe in the Christian God. He believes only in himself and money. I'm not surprised he didn't pray.

I go to the Catholic church every Sunday with a friend to support him in something that is important to him ( his family does not support him in anything. ) I however do not say any of the prayers because I follow Buddhist teachings and do not believe in god. I do go up to get blessed for communion as Christians do not hold a monopoly on blessings. I also do not sing because I do not want to scare people around me. My friend also has an absolutely gorgeous voice ( one of the other reasons I go is to hear him sing next to me. )

My Dad was totally tone deaf. However, that didn't stop him from belting out hymns, in church. Or, pretty much singing, when ever the mood took him.

He was one of those rare Welshmen, born with a love of singing, but a total lack of 'ear'.

We recited the creed. In Sunday school it was explained that "catholic" with a small c didn't mean the Roman Catholic Church but "universal" as in all Christians. Dang, that was a long time ago.

I don't expect anyone to pray along to something that they don't believe in.

Some evangelicals, too, reject creeds on principle. I'm doubtful that he's at all invested in matters of faith. (And, frankly, I wouldn't care either way.)
