So has Danny Deutsch been lying about Cohen wanting to be on the right side of history and seeing...

....himself as a new John Dean?

I watched Deutsch push that framing for an hour last week. Deutsch is reportedly a friend of Cohen and had spent time with him on the very day he made that claim.

Trump, the Trump family, the Trump organisation, and as it relates to the 2016 election. What he may not have given is anything related to mob activities, and that's what he's taking the hit on. So in the terms Donnie is talking, he is probably correct.

The SDNY and Mueller investigations are two seperate things.

Cohen apparently helped Mueller's investigators quite a bit as in their sentencing memo they asked for no additional prison time and if there is, that that time be served concurrently with the sentence related to the SDNY charges.

The SDNY involves mostly Cohen's tax crimes and only touches Trump on the illegal campaign finance charge. Cohen's lawyer worked at SDNY. Presumably they knew what they were doing by not agreeing to a plea deal with that US atty office.

The stuff that Cohen wouldn't cooperate on was the taxi cab coin bit, which is mafia related. Its not the Russia stuff with Mueller. SDNY charged him in the taxi coin bit and you can be damn sure there were more links involved - unrelated to Trump - that they wanted to follow. I assume crossing his mob buddies wasn't on his "to do" list for 2018.

People are reading something into this that isn't there.
