We hyperbolically claim that the whole GOP is corrupt and in on the con, but realistically, aren't there some senators who are out of touch, or otherwise not paying attention, who must have been woken yesterday when Individual-1 was accused of committing a felony?
Surely not every single senator knew that Trump was actively involved with Russia, and committing election fraud etc, right?
That seems like a conspiracy theory, to say they all knew.
So who do you think honestly didn't know?

(12,344 posts)It goes way back to when Trump became the nominee. Paul Ryan offered some strong criticism of Trump. Trump counterattacked and Ryan's approval rating dropped 10 points in a week. He got the message and got on board the train after that. So did many others. The few that didn't, like Ted Cruz and Jeff Flake, eventually folded. Self preservation overcomes common sense.

(7,399 posts)The GOP senators remained willfully ignorant but they saw the same things everyone else saw over that time span. They had to be somewhat aware of what they would end up being presented with. These people are political creatures and knowledge is power. They knew most of what would come out.....and will continue to come out.

(7,543 posts)Can't say you didn't know any longer...
I want to see the announcement of an investigation of the former Attorney General's lies before Congress...I want to see McConnell and Graham and Pence charged with collusion and obstruction. They were all present according to info disclosed yesterday. I want to see Nunes charged with obstruction. And I want Trey Gowdy to be restrained in a seat and forced to watch.
