My best guess, though, is that he would resign when confronted by a bipartisan delegation from congress, assisted by his own staff explaining why he must and what would happen if he did not. Trump's a coward in confrontations.

Speculating that things might get bad for a while if some of the really bad characters around him did not allow confrontation and encouraged him to believe he could fight his way out.

Note, though, that if convicted and removed by vote of the senate, Trump would no longer be president.

Because there’s no clear answer to, “What if Trump and his enabling Republican Party are revealed to be eyeball-deep in lawbreaking on an international scale”?

They’te not going to simply give up and surrender their piece of the pie. Law enforcement leans right-wing in general, will they oust Trump? The military often leans right wing, will they physicality remove Trump? The right-wing SCOTUS will also be defending Trump.

It’s already obvious to anyone with a critical mind that all the known players (including the entire Trump family) are absolute scum, destroying as much of the democracy as possible, and, at the same time, filling their overstuffed offshore bank accounts with taxpayers’ money.

But not a peep from the Republican Party so far.

I doubt the Secret Service will be willing to engage in the Gunfight at the Pennsylvania Avenue Corral, so they'll probably just hand over a subpoena and a surrender order that will be ignored, and trigger a constitution crisis.
