BURLINGTON, Vt. Joe Biden waltzed into potential future opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders backyard Sunday sounding an awful lot like a 2020 candidate.
Six days after saying he's the most qualified person in the country to be president, Biden took the stage here and railed against naked nationalism, phony populism, and a GOP that is not your fathers Republican Party.
If you have a problem, whats the problem? The other. The other. That immigrant, that black guy, that woman, he said of populism, without mentioning President Donald Trump by name. Thats the problem, instead of facing up to the problem called greed.
But Biden speaking at an event to promote his book, Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose" equivocated on the question of whether hed challenge Trump. Biden has said previously he would decide on a run in the next few months.

(10,721 posts)Bernie's only hope is dominating Iowa and New Hampshire. If Biden runs, that won't happen. Even if Biden doesn't run, that probably won't happen, given how many candidates there will be.
But then Biden will run into trouble as the primary progresses. People will be reminded why his previous attempts have fallen way short.
