It's ELECTION fraud; not VOTER fraud. GOP commits the fraud; not voters. Voter fraud is GOP framing.

Framing is important. The GOP narrative is voter fraud, which they use to justify all kinds of disenfranchisement tactics such as discriminatory voter ID laws, purging voter registration databases, etc., while they do all they can to manipulate elections, whether legal or not. That is election fraud.

We need to call it what it is and not use framing that promotes their narrative.

1. "Voter Fraud" is a false accusation rethugs drum up to make it harder for people to vote

Myth of Voter Fraud

It is important to protect the integrity of our elections. But we must be careful not to undermine free and fair access to the ballot in the name of preventing voter fraud.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly, and falsely, claimed millions voted illegally. Yet examination after examination of voter fraud claims reveal fraud is very rare, voter impersonation is nearly non-existent, and much of the problems associated with alleged fraud relates to unintentional mistakes by voters or election administrators. Election officials and leaders of the presidents own party also agree fraud is not widespread.

The Brennan Center's seminal report "The Truth About Voter Fraud" conclusively demonstrated most allegations of fraud turn out to be baseless and that of the few allegations remaining, most reveal election irregularities and other forms of election misconduct. And numerous other studies have reached the same conclusion. In a recent report, "Noncitizen Voting: The Missing Millions," the Brennan Center debunked President Trump's claim that millions improperly voted in the 2016 election.

Voter fraud is not acceptable in our elections, but we must find solutions that address actual problems instead of imposing policies that make it harder for millions of eligible Americans to participate in our democracy.

2. "Election Fraud" consists of election manipulation or vote rigging,

is illegal interference with the process of an election, either by increasing the vote share of the favored candidate, depressing the vote share of the rival candidates, or both.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_fraud

------------
It's too bad Wikipedia uses the term "Electoral" instead of "Election" since it makes the fraud sound like it's about the electoral college. Most election protection people use the term "election fraud."

3. thank you!

I've seen the talking heads on news do that -- calling it voter fraud instead of election fraud. The voters in this case are innocent victims. The criminals (including the GOP candidate, it looks like) defrauded the voters -- making the election process a fraud.
