Could Facebook be responsible for lower unemployment numbers?

I run a few pages and do promotions for some local businesses.

Its seems like the ability to apply for a job via Facebook has caught on - and now I see applications - basically everyday.

Management always has a fresh pool of applicants.

And - I think its made it much easier to employ people.

I think people are much more motivated to apply online - vs going in person, asking for an application, etc...

Have to wonder if this effect reaches statistical relevance?
