BREAKING: Trump Attorney and Fixer Michael Cohen Gets 3 Years

2/ Cohen is a nonviolent defendant with no prior record who offered significant assistance (and who will need to *continue* to offer assistance) to the feds in the most important case of our lifetimes. 3 years, felony record, massive fine is not really "light" *given* our system.
3/ Worth noting that despite his significant assistance to Robert Mueller, Michael Cohen got two months (concurrent) and $100,000 fine *just* for lying to Congress. Remember that the higher-ups in the Trump-Russia case will be looking at many more (and more serious) charges.
4/ Keep in mind also that Donald Trump Jr. *definitely* lied to Congress *many* ties, as did Erik Prince. So today's sentence underscores that Prince and Trump Jr. have already *conspicuously* committed offenses that we would expect would land then in prison (plus *many* others).
5/ Consider too that the *president* committed (legally speaking) the same offense as Cohen (as to one set of Cohen's charges) in terms of the penalty he'd face. In other words, Trump being president is really the *only* thing keeping *him* from being frog-marched off to prison.
6/ Remember too that there is a mechanism in the federal system to offer additional cooperation beyond what one has already offered *after* one is sentenced and thereby earn the right to petition for a reduction of sentence. (And there is *much* more cooperation Cohen can offer.)

He should thank his lucky stars that he wasn't put up against a wall and shot.

I would love to see that frog march.

as a specific provision in his plea deal with the SDNY.

He just happened to run into a Russian agent and middle eastern bag man in a bar in the Scheyell islands to set up back channel deals in January of 2017.

If he hasn't, why not?

the day he leaves office will he be travelling to Rikers Island or to Leavenworth?
