Is Trump backstabbing Cohen by mentioning this "favor"?

It's weird - amidst Trump running Cohen down with disparaging remarks

He keeps bring up this oddly sentimental moment about the "favor" Cohen did for him.

Even providing a loose time frame of 12-13 years ago.

Its sounds kind of like "look over here!!!"

Revenge?

It seems like a signal.

Trump is in a corner and he is striking out as a defense move. That walls are crumbling around him, and the desperation is showing. Trump's days are numbered. Those in his inner circle are feeling the pressure.

Cohen has too much of a history to be dismissed as a 'coffee boy', so Trump has to rationalise their tight relationship as "he did one thing for me a decade ago, and ever since then he's been taking from me".
