Those kids spent their school days in a system that had been declared unconstitutional..and the state never did anything about it. The districts are gerrymandered to a fare-thee-well and only the cities get a chance for progressive politics.

Ohio re-elected (statewide) Sherrod Brown, but didn't elect (statewide) Rich Cordray, Mike Dettelbach, Kathleen Clyde, Rob Richardson or Zack Space.

3. Yes. Brown is good and well-known

But none of the others have the name recognition (even Cordray, much as I hate to say it) or have put in the state-wide effort that is needed here to win. There is a strong conservative "it's his turn, he's earned it" mentality here that Republicans work better than Democrats do. And as for gerrymandering--the 12th and 15th House districts were carved out specifically to dilute the Franklin County Dem vote and make them both Rep strongholds. (Those are the two I'm most familiar with, being in Franklin Co.)
