Maria Butina to participate in a "Grand Jury"

The 'our girl' title came out, when pictures of her kept coming out, with all sorts of republicans. She was an our girl omen for bad things that would come to that republican in the picture.

With her collaboration and guilty plea, what her current status is with all sorts of parties, seems to be murkier

She operated in Repug circles for sure. But we have always assumed she was a Putin plant. Now, if she was, indeed, a Putin plant, will she be cooperating at the insistence of Putin? Or maybe she has been instructed to obfuscate? The interesting part in all this is, I think, her behavior should be taken as endorsed by the Kremlin. And, as such, it should be an indicator of how Putin thinks of the Rump and the GOP in general. Many people here have assumed that she could not be in direct contact with Russia because she has been so isolated the last few months. Personally, I don't believe that. There are ways. She is no dummy. Plus, who is to say there wasn't a long term plan B in case things went sideways?

Putin probably does not want her exposing everything she knows, especially about the Russian side. I don't know what future value she would actually have to the Putin type. Hard to imagine what Butina's thoughts on future plans are. Going the other way, the witness protection plan not likely to work. Tough when no one actually cares what happens to you.

She's walking a tightrope now. Maybe she wants to be locked up safe? But they can still get to her. She's in a very, very bad position.

Her alleged handler, the high-level Russian banker Alexander Torshin, seems to be missing already. Maybe someone should be keeping an eye on her 'romantic partner' Paul Erickson, too.

Would like to eliminate her from doing anything more. Hope she and all others ready to testify against all these trump criminals are well protected, and we don't start having them get murdered to protect trump and putin.

What would have been Putin’s ultimate goal with trump as president? My guess is the lifting of sanctions, weakening of NATO, and provide cover for territorial gains in the Ukraine / Crimean. At this point, how much more use could trump be to Putin? The last thing Putin could use trump for is to further disrupt our political system by allowing the full scope of Russian meddling to be uncovered.

Putin got all of that with trump. I believe Butina is trump’s “poison pill” and Putin wants her to stay alive at this point.

I'd put her on a plane back to Russia with time served.
