I think the Romney/Ryan ticket will get little or a NEGATIVE bounce from their Convention!
Since the announcement of Ryan, things have not gone well for the ticket. It has experienced one disaster after another so that by the time the Convention starts, the participants will be collectively in a foul mood. Enter Chris Christie who will bring his full frontal nastiness to set the tone in his keynote address. Expect the snarling governor of New Jersey to churn the hall. Things will just get uglier after that. The signs will be angry and desperate. There will be no attempt to present themselves as rational and calm. Yes, they will be "shrill."
I can only hope that this will be the convention that augurs the wreck of the Republican Party as it is presently constituted. Polls will reflect the voters' disgust of this public display of toxic hate.
So let it be written...

(108 posts)What disasters? The tp/evangelical base is fired up, which they really weren't before the Ryan pick. I check In Trade at least daily. Until Rmoney picked Ryan, the Prez had about a 20 point lead. Now it's down to between 13 and 15.
If you can name the disasters, I'd really appreciate it. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease give me some hope that things will go our way!!

(15,202 posts)out on the West Coast there is little or no chatter for R/R and our
President still gathers huge, enthusiastic crowds to hear him speak on
the future of this Nation.
Maybe, where you are from it appears differently.

I'm in a small Michigan town. Our rep. was Pete Hoekstra . . .
But still--do you know what "disasters" were alluded to in the OP?

(15,202 posts)Should be interesting how they flip on this and flop on the other. Some probably don't consider bold-faced lying a problem, I guess.

(68,415 posts)side and it was covered as such in the press, Ryan was booed only one day after his selection (almost unheard of), neither Romney nor Ryan can tell us which budget they will follow, Romney at his whiteboard was held up as a laughing stock in the media, Ryan babbled hopelessly and finally admitted he "hadn't run the numbers". Romney insulted the Brits before the London Olympics and was attacked by the mayor of London (himself a conservative) and booed by Londoners, the image of Rafalca only underscored the Romney's elitist impression, Ryan was caught in his lie about not seeking stimulus money....I'll stop there...

(75,480 posts)It has gotten so crazy and dare I say unAmerican in the past decades that it really can't go on with the cultish ideology that has emerged and still be true to our Constitution. Then maybe the Democrats can be the new right of center party (they already are) and we can get a Social Democratic Party going on the left with true liberal ideals.
Yeah, I'm not in lockstep with the DLC or even the DNC, so sue me.

(68,415 posts)were the reviews BAD. Marilyn Quayle also made a nasty speech. So the Republicans have done this before. I'm just rooting for them to do it again! You know they want to...
