Both of these women will emerge as the top runners for 2020.
Both of these women are heads and tails above Biden, Bernie and Beto.

(42,031 posts)But I agree that both Amy Klobacher and Kamala Harris are brilliant women and each have the talent and skills to make a great president.

(86 posts)I respect him too, but I'm not sure he is the fit for 2020. And yes, Klobachar and Harris are awesome women and political leaders and it will be a mistake to underestimate their potential for winning the nomination.

(68,937 posts)Sorry, that was a global thing, not aimed at you. I know he is counted in Democratic polls, but why? He is a sour spoiler and one of only two candidates who chose not to release his tax returns. Count me suspicious of him.
To your point about Harris and Klobuchar, I like them both, for very different reasons.

(20,042 posts)We need full time democrats.
I will vote for whoever is our nominee, but
we do best with young dynamic candidates
see Kennedy, Clinton, Obama.
and a woman on the ticket.

(13,949 posts)but do you have to slam other people as well? Look, we have a lot of good people who can run 2020, but let's save the war for the primary, and then end the war right after the primary so we can focus on purging America of the GOP.
MariePinchon
(86 posts)I stated that these women were heads and tails above Bernie, Beto and Biden. That is not a slam. That is the truth.
DonCoquixote
(13,949 posts)still, you coudl ahve said why you love the women without aiming at beto. again, let us wait till the 2020 primary before we say "my person is great and your person stinks"
MariePinchon
(86 posts)I have a lot of respect for Beto. His speech on why NFL players like Kaepernick kneel, was golden. But he is not in the same league as Klobachar or Harris. That is not a slam. It's the truth. I never said Beto "stinks". Nor would I ever say such a thing. But he is not in the same league as Harris or Klobachar. That is a fact. Not a slam.
DonCoquixote
(13,949 posts)however, there are many ladies I would put above Klobachar. As much as I would love to belive this country could elect a Maxine Waters, I am realistic, but I can damn well see a Sibelius, Napoletano, Mazie Hirano, Tulsi gabbard or yes, even though she still has damage from the Franken mess, a Gillibrand.
All of these could easily stand above Amy, because they already have national attention and battle scars.

(3,038 posts)The unintentional pun is unfortunate in your OP.
MariePinchon
(86 posts)I'm not following your logic on this.
k8conant
(3,038 posts)so I figured it was unintentional, so the pun was also.
MariePinchon
(86 posts)And by doing so you are avoiding my point that Amy Klobachar and Kamala Harris are far more preferred candidates over Beto, Bidon and Bernie.
But I suppose that was your point.
TeamPooka
(25,577 posts)cause with your "truth."
and by the way you have made zero case for the candidates you support, just insults of others.
You made a prediction, with no reasons for it given, and insulted long-time Democrats with much support across the base.
Then when challenged you just repeated your insults with no supporting facts or debate.
You are agitating, person who just joined DU yesterday.
Your motives should be questioned by everyone on this board right now.
MIRT should know this too.

male candidate, I'm voting for the woman. People who look like me are already overly represented.
The fact is that all six candidates are capable of being President. Klobachar and Harris deserve the more serious look not because they're women but because they have the same capability to lead as do the B's - then comes they're being women.
We have the best and deepest bench I've ever seen for an election. The truth is I will vote for Klobochar or Harris before I'd vote for the three B's. And no matter which one gets through to convention - I will have absolutely no problem voting for anyone of them against cheetolini. If he's even there in 2020.
What would you think of nominating Pelosi after she's been made President after the resignations of cheetolini and Mike Pence? I'd vote Pelosi - certainly has the experience.
MariePinchon
(86 posts)Yet can you imagine how many heads would explode if she became President? It would be quite the scene.

(71,399 posts)head's REALLY exploded.
And that;s the problem. Do we really need to be derailed this early in the campaign season by trying to create division?
MariePinchon
(86 posts)It's just that the image of Republican pundits reacting to it immediately came to my mind.
No, I am not looking to cause or create division.

(71,399 posts)is temporary, we need every other office anywhere in the US Democratic, too. We need to be adding voters, not peeling them away.

(84,765 posts)I think it's Klobachar and Beto, then everyone else. In terms of likelihood to win, Harris is last in this group.
MariePinchon
(86 posts)But Harris seems to be catching on with many Democratic groups recently.
Renew Deal
(84,765 posts)Polling doesn't show that. She is reliably behind Biden, Bernie, and Beto.
MariePinchon
(86 posts)about Harris having the backing of Indian Americans. There was also a straw poll from She The People yesterday.
She's behind in the polling, but the polling data suggests many people still don't know about her. Her numbers will go up, once people get to know her.
