There were many comedic breaks that helped to diffuse the attempt at total destruction of the country.

... because there's usually a "bump" in sales once the movie comes out. So it makes sense that they would also redesign the cover and update the look to 2018.

Disclosure - I haven't seen the film yet but I do plan to see it soon.

On IMDB they say that Adam McKay the director also wrote the script, but they don't say whether he's basing it on a book. I would imaging that a lot research went into the script because that's how McKay and Christian Bale work. Sorry if I gave the wrong impression on my previous post.

Interesting part of the movie is how he got involved with Rumsfeld back at the beginning and parlayed that into ultimate control of the presidency.

Do not mistake this as being hagiography...this is nothing of the sort.

This movie highlights the evil that is Dick, and that actors all do a phenomenal job! It is certainly a timely movie, shedding light on how we got to where we are today!
