Viral photo shows US Soldier holding "Trump flag" (violating DOD rule)

Bloomberg reporter Jennifer Epstein caught the soldier red handed
engaging in political activity, which is prohibited by the Pentagon.
MAGA hats depicted in a separate photo are also campaign material and therefore prohibited.

In my 24 years of military experience. Recruits, Junior Enlisted, and yes, even young officers don’t know any better.

Chief of Staff of the Air Force General David L. Goldfein need to make some phone calls.

After his dissing of the military on so many occasions, I still don't understand why so many of them support him. Maybe because many are just like him deep down?

Nothing to see here. It wasn't a formal campaign rally (which means taxpayers got to foot the bill for this totally-not-a-political-rally), and MAGA hats aren't political. So, no problem.

than something to be signed.

Carrying in a MAGA hat, or a non-displayed banner, to be signed is not substantially different from carrying in an autograph book - it is being carried in for the purpose of obtaining an autograph, not for the purpose of campaigning.

Carring the banner so it can be read by others while you are standing in line comes closer to crossing the line.

Maybe even a letter of reprimand.

A dishonorable discharge is usually the result of a very serious criminal infraction.

I also know the military is not going to be public about what they do about an infraction by an officer.

She’ll get talked to; as an officer she should know better.

But al this nonsense about discharge is just stupid.

She committed no crime. She may be a blithering idiot, but that is not grounds for a dishonorable discharge.

There are many types of discharges that are less than honorable. There’s a bad conduct, a general, an administrative....there may be others, but that’s what I remember.

It’s not legally warranted.

Most members of the military are not so isolated from the rest of society that they would have been unable to attend rallies, shop on the internet, etc.

join 45 in an authoritarian takeover. That's what you get when you are basically at war for nearly 20 years and only a tiny fraction of Americans serve.
