What is thought to work short term is what the long term goal is. If the short-term fix tomorrow is perceived to be at odds with todays, then the only proper long term course of action is the new short-term fix. If the short-term fix is there to help politically, then it's economic. If it's economic, then it's also political. And by "political" it's "what helps Trump."

Everything else is pareidolia not of random visual or aural stimuli but of random events. Humans like to seek patterns in randomness.
