or otherwise appearing the fool while hobnobbing/gladhanding his wealthy, donor class pals. The results of his own ill-intended machinations are closing in and it is becoming clear to him there is no way out. Mal-A-Lardo is no escape.

Pity pot mode, feeling sorry for "himself" and pouting because things are going his way. Narcissists have a hard time when people don't "respect" the idea that they and they alone are "always" right. They avoid the public, and as was mentioned in another post here, they don't want to have to answer any questions at all.
