A $5 billion wall will not cost $5 billion. There would be enormous cost over-runs, because you know that Trump will give the contracts to corrupt businessmen, who will pad expenses and use cheap materials. Moreover, a wall along the border would be an ecological disaster. It will not prevent illegal visa-overstays, which are the majority of illegals in this country. That $5 billion could be spent better elsewhere, e.g. subsidizing broadband in rural areas, college scholarships, rural ERs, school lunches, etc etc.

Congress doesn't "overturn" laws--the courts do.

Congress can repeal a law, but both houses have to agree, and the president has to sign. If the president vetoes the repeal then it requires a two thirds vote in both chambers to overturn the veto.

And as to your OP, the no way in hell the GOP or Trump will agree to Medicare for All. They already had a chance to do DACA and they refused.

You really want that wall, don't you?

You might want to give that persona a little work.

But since Trump already rejected DACA for 20 billion I don't see DACA for 5 billion happening, leaving Trump looking stupid. There wouldn't be enough votes in the Senate either if DACA is attached.

The only solution I see happening is a clean, non-wall CR with a congressional overide of Trump's inevitable veto. Neither Pelosi or Schumer will give a dime more than they have alredy offered unless they get something in return, and nothing in return is being offered.

Why forsake right and moral principles so that idiot can declare victory! Victory over an idea that robs this country of treasure for a ridiculous idea. Please rethink your position if you self describe yourself as a Democrat!
