And if so, why didn't he release the stuff ages ago for the good of the world?

(82,383 posts)I'm more comfortable with that choice being made by whichever Americans have that job, even in a Republican administration. The bureaucracy at least has a motive to make some attempt to keep stability in the world to the extent possible.
There may not be any such thing. If there is, it undercuts the opinion that he is a hero, since he's holding that information back for his own interests. Now he's making it about himself. I think we are dealing with someone with a mental illness here. Delusions of grandeur, or something, seeking attention and drama, trying to make a movie script life. It's really fascinating in its way.
This is not the person who should decide which classified information gets released and to whom. It's obvious that the good of anything but his own attention seeking is the furthest things from his mind.

(9,137 posts)and that those who support Ecuador's decision to grant asylum are uncritical of all Assange's actions. From the info available I don't agree with the poison pill tactics.
As for what you say about mental illness, delusions of grandeur, seeking attention and drama, you are free to project.
