(15,473 posts)McCaskill did what she had to do to hold a seat in Missouri and overall did ok. But, she is being used, is tacking to try another run of some kind.

(55,334 posts)This is unimportant and it'll blow over. She's young and uncertain AOC will get better at holding her media messaging. 4 things out of 5 that she says actually make strong arguments.
I like Claire McCaskill too. She's done great service for the country, she's damned smart, and I expect to hear more from her in the future.
I have lost almost all of my love for McCaskill

(55,334 posts)She was one of the first leaders to get behind Obama. Don't forget how ballsy that was in 2007. She's spent 12 years in Congress calling out hypocrites and promoting solid, responsible government.
What she said (indirectly) about Ocasio-Cortes was pretty oblique and really geared at looking at the big picture of governance. She's been one of the most reliable thumbs in the dam, holding back the tide of irresponsibility that defines our conservative-dominated media environment. I'd follow her up any hill.
We're a weaker nation for having lost her service. I hope President Warren puts her to good use starting in 2021. (Or President Harris or President O'Rourke or President Winfrey or whoever we go with).

(71,555 posts)stuff. We have bigger fish to fry than arguing over a newby rep. We can't control the press. Perhaps Ocasio-Cortez should hire a press person to help her.

(13,340 posts)O-C needs to keep focused on what matters. McCaskill is now irrelevant. O-C has a chance to emerge as a party leader if she can stay focused.
perhaps she is jealous. Her remarks seem uncalled for. Perhaps it is sour grapes.
Either way, it is a perspective limited by her relationship with Missouri and not a national one. Yes, maybe the rise of the new left has squeezed her our of office because of right wing backlash. That doesn't make it dismissible.
