Oh, and btw, Chris Rock was traded by the AA team in the racial draft for Jerry Seinfeld.

Seinfeld made the most salient point by stating he never saw the humor in it or sought it out. Chris Rock got deservedly roasted for it. Jerry looked really uncomfortable. The whole segment is cringeworthy on many levels.

I don't understand how the person so involved in creating that show could do the other (abhorrent) things he has done.

15. People are complex, aren't they?

Sometimes a person does important and valuable things in their life but because of one part of their personality, they become pariahs.

Others get away with their misbehavior without ever being held responsible. While still others do many good things but get tarred by something that is questionable.

It's very complex and often seems unbalanced or unfair. Nonetheless, that's the way things roll in our world.

I don't have to think its funny, but I'm not going to condemn them for pushing decorum.

I get what he is trying for here. He tries to find something funny in things that generally wouldn't be.
That has always been part of his comedy, "How can I make ______ funny".
But considering his personal behavior has made him persona non grata, he shouldn't be making fun of vulnerable members of society, like trans gender or shooting victims.

tried to push comedy into areas that wouldn't normally be funny. But I think the problem here is the target of the humor is trans gender and shooting survivors.

On "Curb Your Enthusiasm" Larry David has made many sensitive subjects funny, but he does it in a way that does not make fun of victims.
