It's actually 15 seconds after midnight
I enjoy telling folks the anecdote that it was before women's lib, so they asked my DAD...."you want a tax deduction or a new year's baby?"
he said "hell yeah, new years baby"...while my mom is screaming on the gurney!
so they supposedly held her knees together till midnight
...and that's my 15 seconds of fame....
My wish for us all is an end to the crazy we have taken as reality <3

(28,493 posts)That's why Rosemary Kennedy was born brain damaged.
My mother once said that when one of us kids was being born and a nurse told her to hold her knees together until the doctor got there, mom said in effect, "Fuck that" because she was herself a nurse and understood the physiology of birth.
You don't try to stop the inevitable.
