(31,261 posts)The Press will ignore the total vile conduct of Trump that some have witnessed and go after any small Warren fault. I hope Liz does not back down, I hope that she aggressively and plainly call their asses out.

(31,261 posts)Something struck me last week. I was debating a person in a thread and I made a statement about how I vote and feel. Basically I told the person that whoever wins out party nomination has my complete support and vote in the General, and I will scrape up other votes for our candidate, that was the end of the debate, the other poster would not make such a promise. The whole series of posts showed me what we will be dealing with if a certain person rubs and fails to admit defeat and get fully behind the party's nominee.

(9,287 posts)Was discussed. You know, like what her platform is. I guess it really is too much to expect politico to cover policy and then there is this line:
Warren's reputation as standoffish stemmed in part from the arms-length distance at which she kept reporters in the Senate hallways, where until recently she rarely stopped for interviews.
Admittedly the press likes people who talk to them. But this time is not like others. We have a POTUS who literally calls the press the enemy of the people and doesnt hold press conferences. Yet they cover his tweets all the live long day. Pretty much a shallow take from politico, par for the course when covering female candidates. I am not a fan.

(12,448 posts)Many in the media react reflexively to the very idea of a powerful woman, let alone a woman running for president. It's not new; Hillary Clinton was but one example. Most of them aren't even aware that they're misogynists; many will protest that they're feminist, but don't like THAT woman as president.
It's damn old, annoying, and dangerous to the Democratic Party. And therefore dangerous to the country. Personally, I don't have a favorite for the primaries; we don't even have a declared field yet for chrissakes. But if Warren does run and wins the nomination, I will work and vote for her gladly.
Also, it's odd to see the Warren hatred on DU, some of it from the very people who were demanding she run in 2016! But then, logic is a foreign concept to them.

I'll admit, I'm not a huge Elizabeth Warren fan, but she'd be a tremendous improvement over the current White House occupant - as would Beto, Bernie, Biden, Booker, and a number of Dems with names beginning with 25 other letters of the alphabet.

While Senator Warren seems extremely likeable to me (see eg her Daily Show interviews with Jon Stewart), it doesn't matter, since she's also competent, and a human being who cares about other humans. That's enough.
Many millions question the integrity of Politico, of course.
