"This is not a wall between Mexico and the United States that the President is creating here. It is a wall between reality and his constituents."

The rest is a bit too deep for this non-lawyer to follow. Can anybody clarify? I do know the new Special Counsel is weaker than the old style.

"I do know the new Special Counsel is weaker than the old style. "
And what do you mean by that.
This Special Counsel is structurally stronger and stands on more solid legal ground, and better handled than any old style you've heard of. Even the old Watergate prosecutors say this Special Counsel is so impeccable that no one can touch it legally.
I don't get what your problem is. Because there is no possibility that this Special Counsel is getting ousted.
Rest assured of that.

(30,613 posts)This report to Congress goes into a lot more detail, but one excerpt may illuminate what I mean.
Special Counsels, Independent Counsels, and Special Prosecutors: Legal Authority and Limitations on Independent Executive Investigations
The DOJs general administrative hiring authority (28 C.F.R. Part 600) authorizes the Attorney General to appoint special counsels. Special counsels exercise more independence than regular DOJ officials and employees, but because the Attorney General generally appoints, supervises, and may remove special counsels, they are considered to be less independent than independent counsels were.

Reports to Congress are interpretations of law, not the law itself.

My cousin asked me tonight if I could think of anyone better qualified and situated than Nancy to be our presidential candidate in 2020? I believe that more people will be asking themselves and others that in the weeks and months to come.
