Not Only Am I NOT Offended By "Impeach The Motherfucker"........

............I think it would look great on bumper stickers, T-shirts, cheap hats, etc. It sounds to me like it should be our SLOGAN for this year. Let them clutch their pearls over it. You know damn well that if some Republican had said that about Obama a few years ago, the printing presses would already be churning out the merch right now, and pre-orders would already be through the roof. So fuck 'em. (And "fuck 'em" should be our NEXT slogan.)

I do think saying it like she did in public reflects badly on the democratic party.

Is it fatal? No. Would it stop me from voting for her? No. Do I think it was stupid and short sighted? Yes.

She deserves to be able to let her hair down at a celebratory private party. She is a million times better than any Republican, even if she let out a relatively common curse word at a private party.

You suggesting she is not "better than them" just because she used a common curse word at a private party is way over the top.

ITMFA! a how-to guide

Back in the bad old days of Dubya, which by comparison are downright halcyon, I joined a DIY group to make our own bumper stickers out of any material that would stick.

This was back before you could google search "ITMFA" and have the urban dictionary spit out "Impeach The Mother Fucker Already" in under a second. Before iPhones and all that shit. So, people would ask what the letters stood for, and I would enjoy telling them.

I wish I had taken a picture, because that car is long gone. But hey, I can make another sticker.

It's really fun to make it out of *real* duct tape, the really shiny stuff that costs more than the cheap "Duck Tape" you can buy anywhere. The good stuff is at the hardware store, and it has removable backing so you can cut the letters out ahead of time until you figure out where & when to display. It's really easy to cut; use scissors or an x-acto knife if you want to get fancy.

Making your own is cathartic, more personal and more meaningful than buying stuff online. Any fool can do that in a couple of minutes. Plus, you're NOT BUYING ANYTHING. You're making it!

Get it?

" In response to a reader's question, Dan Savage launched ITMFA and raised over $20,000 to support those in the fight against George W. Bush's agenda.

On January 24, 2017, Dan Savage resurrected #ITMFA to support three organizations that are standing up to Donald Trump: The ACLU, Planned Parenthood and the International Refugee Assistance Project.

"We're in for a long and ugly four years, readers. Let's raise some money for groups fighting Trump, let's bring ITMFA back into our everyday vocabulary, and let's remember that we -- people who voted against Trump, people who want to see him out of office as quickly as possible, people who are appalled by this and this and this and this—are the majority.” — Dan Savage

Learn More.

The best part of wearing your ITMFA button, hat, lapel pin, or t-shirt to work or school or your town hall meeting? People will ask you what ITMFA stands for. And then you get to tell them! Impeach the motherfucker already!

Dodging the emoluments clause. Bragging about sexual assault. Conflicts of interest. Didn’t release his tax forms. Asking Russia to hack Hillary. Lying about illegal voters. Lying about the size of his hands, his crowds, and his nonexistent mandate."

Okay, I don't think that was her goal by any means, but instead of everyone dwelling on what a fine speech Pelosi gave, it seems everyone including the media is focusing on what Rashida Tlaib said, whether it's the MSM or social media.

I thought what she did was extremely dumb and embarrassing at the same time, not simply because she used the word "motherfucker" but because she said "We're gonna impeach the motherfucker." I'd love to see the motherfucker impeached as much or more than anyone, but for her to lay down the cards as if it's a fact that impeachment is in our plans at this very moment, it was doing the Democratic Party a disservice, IMO. A congressperson just shouldn't talk about something like that as if it's fact, not in public anyway. Even if she had only said "We're gonna impeach him" without the "motherfucker" in there, even that would have been a mistake to say it in public at that time and place.
