For that to happen, both tRump and Pence would need to be Impeached, Convicted and Removed from Office. And since Republicans hold enough cards in the Senate, they will NEVER let that happen. It doesn't matter if it's even clear cut evidence that they both should be, it will NEVER happen because they know that would make Pelosi #46.

At best, what will happen would be tRump gets bounced first ... Pence becomes #46, selects a new VP that gets confirmed ... then Pence gets bounced and his selection for VP becomes President.

The ONLY way that Pelosi will become #46 is if both tRump and Pence die together or within a very short time of each other, enough that a new VP doesn't get nominated.

The Onion has to start trying a lot harder if they're going to create satire that truly can't honestly happen.

There are more ways than the one you suppose. Not saying it's likely, just saying it's possible, and that Pelosi would be a good P or VP.

Edit: Strategically, she fulfills the experienced criterion Joe Biden brings, and beats Joe on Women's Rights.

And if one of them is impeached, convicted and removed from office, she does not become Vice President by default ... it doesn't work that way.

But if you want to hold on to your delusion that she could still technically, possibly become #46 (or #47) ... you just go on and keep dreaming. Yeah, it could technically happen ... but it won't.

to spring on the Traitor-in-Chief and his henchman VP... can't wait!! Gotta love the concept of Madam President Pelosi!! Not saying it's GOING to happen, but, certainly, there's a reasonable possibility.

and I mean that literally. Trump and Pence could kill and eat a Christian blond-haired, blue-eyed 12th-generation-American child on live TV and after removing the first one of them the GOP Senate would sit on its hands in re the impeachment of the other one until they got a new VP in place.

So for Pelosi to become POTUS, there would need to be simultaneous resignations. That ain't happening either.

As for her being part of the 2020 Dem POTUS/VP ticket... hell no. She's too effective at being Speaker. Let her do her thing there, it is tremendously valuable.

12th-generation-American child on live TV might be the one event for Rethuglicans that's not a "bridge too far"... as long as all the conditions are met.

Trump is removed through impeachment or some other means and Pence becomes President. Congress can't agree right away on a VP appointment if Dems refuse to back a Republican nominee, so it remains vacant, and then something happens to Pence, so Pelosi becomes president.

Simultaneous impeachment and conviction of both is just not going to happen with Reps in charge of the Senate.
