The Republican Party is in full suicide mode

They spent two years fearing Trump's voters and they lost the House anyway.

They are now totally silent on the Govt. shutdown. At present tens of thousands of government employees are getting fucked. Within another week or two, millions of non-government employees are going to get fucked with food stamps, tax returns and far, far more.

Yet, Mitch McConnell has pulled his head into his turtle shell and is trying to make believe that everything is just fine.

Nancy Pelosi has sent the Senate an exact duplicate of a bill the Senate passed two weeks ago. It's a bill that will end the shutdown and the insanity. And if Trump vetoes it, there will be enough votes in the Senate to override his veto.

But Mitch won't let it come up for a vote in the Senate. The exact same bill that passed the Senate two weeks ago and he won't let it come up for a vote???

His loyalty to the orange creature in the Oval Office is beyond astounding. So we must ask, what does Trump have on him? Or perhaps, what does Putin have on him? Is there a photo of Mitch screwing a Yak? More likely, it has to do with money. Russian money that has gone to Mitch himself and many in his party.

The criminal organization that calls itself the Republican Party is trying to lay low and hope this whole thing blows over.

It ain't going away, Mitch. It's all going to come out. Maybe Vladimir will offer you, Trump, and his children asylum in Moscow with a guarantee that he won't deport you. Hell, you might as well take it. On second thought, perhaps what the American justice system does to you might not be as bad as how Putin will treat you once he doesn't need you anymore.

You and your entire Republican Party have gone off a cliff. And you don't get any pity from me. All you get is this: You all deserve it, you motherfuckers.

Nancy Pelosi is watching the Republicans go over a cliff. And she's going to do everything she can to help them hit maximum velocity.

The Republican Party has betrayed America. Nancy knows it and her committees are going to do everything in their power to make it apparent to all.

I don't know if she can reach the brain dead people who watch Fox "news" 24/7. But you know what? Fuck them too. At some point, even "mindless" people must start to "get it." But Fox viewers seem to be a different species. I seems to me that they are a deadly danger to democracy in general, and our freedoms in particular.

Sun Jan 6, 2019, 01:23 PM
Jan 2019

fox is the cartoon cliff notes for talk radio, where the real unchallenged lying and repetition goes on but they needed to know how to coordinate with the russians at the state and fox never allowed the right to coordinate on the local and state level like talk radio does.

fox is part of the free speech spectrum. the rw talk radio 20-1 monopoly operates outside the free speech spectrum while its buzz moves the country 10-20 pts right

half the main fox blowhards started in talk radio, hannity still does a show where he can lie more and get more stupid and racist. they all know that their bullshit has already been or will soon be pounded into the earholes of 50 mil a week

the russians figured out years ago that 1500 coordinated radio stations basically following limbaugh were destroying democracy. they've been using it at least since 2008 when limbaugh withheld his support for mcccain until he picked palin, who was being courted by russians oil and gas as AK gov. that's when manafort was mccain campaign cochair. then the teabags, climategate from a russian hack in 2009, debt default, and so on.

fox got started 9 years after the talk radio and before fox that propaganda monopoly that dems still ignore gave republicans the house, hamstrung clinton, stopped single payer, did the groundwork for media and election deregulation, and so on.

hannity follows limbaugh, not the other way around.

the sad part is the left is doing nothing with the fact that talk radio and by extension fox are eventually doomed by artificial intelligence because it allows talk radio to be digitized and monitored and studied

- dems/left/liberals could shut rw radio and fox down this year if they stopped ignoring talk radio and did the minimum activity needed to inform the advertising industry that sooner or later they're going to have to start asking clients if they really want to advertise on stations that spew racism and lies all day and may increasingly be working for putin.

limbaugh and talk radio have been mentioned more in media the last week than in 30 previous years. continued blaming of fox will shift the blame back to fox and the talking heads will soon be back to studying fish without water, limbaugh will get his invisibility cloak back on, and by next election dems will be blaming spineless dems and media and getting trolled by putin into not voting because they allowed concessions on walls, trump justice, etc.

it might be different and maybe we'll get lucky if mueller finds stone etc were coordinating talk radio /trump/russian social media, but thats basically the pattern the last 30 years and more than likely the left will go back to ignoring talk radio as it attacks ocasio cortez and warren and castro and beto and makes them unacceptable for tens of millions based on unchallenged lying, blaming fox, and so on.

i didn't mean to dump this rant on you in particular, and i see more notice in the media of the part rw radio is playing, but fox cannot sell the big lies, it can't do the unchallenged repetition. it might start something but talk radio is the problem

Of course, we had a strong suspicion and knew the Republicans were hiding something a year ago at least. As time has gone by we’re getting more of a handle on it. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if what we’ve deduced would turn out to be very close to the truth.

I’m confident we’ll find out because too many are involved, and because Trump can’t help his knee jerk bragging. He wants us to know exactly how and why he’s able to screw us over. It’s a pathetic gnawing hunger in his psyche and he craves obeisance, but he isn’t very good at that either. He’s a lazy and incompetent villain who wants public glory and facile love too much.

They were on the path to pass continuing resolutions to keep the gov't open. Then the right wing media got involved. And everyone changed their minds.

They must think the Dems will cave. Repugs don't care about working people so they don't care if the gov't workers get paid. I think they are counting on the Dems deciding enough is enough and giving in.

Maybe the house should hold hearings on the wall. Bring in engineers to explain how it will cost more than $5 billion and will take 10 years or more to build. Talk about cost to maintain. Bring in experts to explain how ineffective the wall is at stopping people. And then talk about how effective we can be at using technology to fight illegal immigration.

Let's debate the merits of the wall and show how both strategically and economically it's a really bad idea.

The fear of nightmares
Camouflage it , hide behind it , metamorph it

A sane, Republican Party, by whatever name they choose to call themselves, is necessary.

Any one-party country doesn't take long to become a dictatorship.

We need an opposition party that has ideas with which we may disagree, but can understand.

Any and all democracies must have a balance of ideas/concepts/world-views. As long as fascist views are despised by both sides.

The GOP is getting hammered on this issue. I think Trump's trying to work out a way to get around the wall issue (by saying that he'll pay for it some other way) and try to look like a hero. If that doesn't happen in the next week, I think Mitch will let it come to a vote.

What I don't understand is why someone isn't running Trump's "I'll shut it down" video ten times a day on TV and the radio.

One of mine put a FB post out that the Democrats were passing a Democratic bill that added money to funding to promote abortion (or something outrageous), but were continuing to refuse to fund Border Security's Wall. Etc. You know the spiel.

The alt-right base does not read real news. Trump has convinced them that news is "fake" and exists only to criticize them and make him look bad.

They get their information only from partisan rightwing sources...Fox is the main one, but the online ones, also, that we know so well.

These are people who would actually believe Hillary Clinton had a child abuse ring under a pizzaria in New York, that she was illegally sending classified information around the world, and such. They really are that stupid and uninformed. Some aren't...and they are delighted the alt-right mass doesn't ask questions or read news. They're in it for the money, so whatever helps that goal is great with them.

them.

My hatred for the Republican party has grown significantly in the last 2 years and I seriously thought it was already at a maximum. It wasn't.

I hope to hell this kills their party of stupid and privilege once and for all.

They have blood on their hands that can never be washed off.

And in case I'm being too obscure here, how about the children who have died at the Mexican border. Trump didn't do that without an entire political party that looked away and did nothing.

74. I think Mitch figures that if he backs dump up they can pressure the Dems to fold.
Sat Jan 5, 2019, 11:43 PM

He's hoping the Dems will grudgingly include a little wall funding (less than dump wants, but some) and he'll be able to talk dump into signing it. He wins in this situation because dump can declare victory to the faux news crowd, and Democrats have pissed off their base with their first successful bill.

The only problem is that dump has already taken credit for the shutdown, and only about 25% of Americans want the wall enough to justify shutting down the government.

The Dems should get comfortable and get ready to start barraging the country with Schumer's video montage of Trump claiming that Mexico will pay for the wall.

Then Mara Liasson was on. Granted some of this comes from the White House but she made two interesting points:
1. The administration doesn't think Trump will suffer any politic fallout from the shutdown.
and then this...
2. For his base the wall is is vital and they take it very literally. According to her sources in the White House/Trumpians they don't think he can get re-elected if he doesn't get the wall.

Even if the donations by the four men associated with Russia ultimately pass muster with Mueller, one still has to wonder: Why did GOP PACs and other Trump-controlled funds take their money? Why didn't the PACs say, "Thanks, but no thanks," like the Republicans said to Shustorovich in 2000? Yes, it was legal to accept their donations, but it was incredibly poor judgment.

McConnell surely knew as a participant in high level intelligence briefings in 2016 that our electoral process was under attack by the Russians. Two weeks after the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued a joint statement in October 2016 that the Russian government had directed the effort to interfere in our electoral process, McConnell's PAC accepted a $1 million donation from Blavatnik's AI-Altep Holdings. The PAC took another $1 million from Blavatnik's AI-Altep Holdings on March 30, 2017, just 10 days after former FBI Director James Comey publicly testified before the House Intelligence Committee about Russia's interference in the election.
