The "Lord of the Flies" is the devil inside us, projected outward. In Willam Golding's boozed-up, misanthropic view even little kids are blood-lusting killers with only the veneer of civilization preventing them from acting out.

I disagree with the book's premise, but I agree with your comparison.

Trump is nothing. He's a dead body, a pig-head, a hallucination. He doesn't have the physical power to cross the street.

His believers gave him power.

That power can kill, and does kill even those who don't believe.
