National parks face years of damage from government shutdown

When the government eventually reopens, park experts warn reversing damage won't be as easy as throwing out the trash.

https://relay.nationalgeographic.com/proxy/distribution/public/amp/environment/2019/01/why-national-parks-trashed-during-government-shutdown?__twitter_impression=true

So what I'm gathering from this article is rather than shut our parks down completely ,and therefore protect them, this criminal administration wanted to keep them open to avoid public outcry and to benefit private businesses adjacent to the parks?

Do I have this correct?

Bring in private enterprise to “fix” them paving the way to sell of public lands to developers.
Lots of great real estate along the Grand Canyon with awesome views.

I do not.
Are people suppose to crap in bags and take it home?

Restrooms aren't open.
Trash pickup is closed.

They have day visitors.
Lots of them.

Again, people are people and many are from the city with no clue what to expect.

In past shutdowns, the snowmobiles and 4 wheelers blaze into Yellowstone chasing bison, elk, mule deer, etc.. fatiguing the critters and making packed down snow trails that help wolves move more quickly than normal to take down elk and bison individuals.

Trump left the parks open to his gun humper MAGA slimeballs who love nothing better than disgracing our wild lands.
