Has Mitch McConnell abandoned ship??

He's not on TV answering questions with the other Repuke leaders. He wasn't there last time, either.

Has he finally reached his breaking point with Trump???

2. McConnell is stand alone scum. He is a wretched coward and a hideous...

Leader as well as a pathetic human driven only by greed and personal aggrandizement.

Go choke, Pal.

4. I think the turtle values his majority leadership more than anything....

He'll throw tRump under the bus before risking his position.

6. Maybe nobody told him again?

Last time Mitch ghosted on the Republican leadership, his office claimed that McConnell hadn't known anything about no press availability, even though he was in the room while it was being set up. Didn't get an engraved invitation, maybe. The excuse worked so well last time (nobody in the Republican caucus dares cross McConnell), he's going to use it again until it doesn't work anymore.

Or maybe he's staying away by mutual agreement of the Republican caucus so that when everything appears hopeless, McConnell can ride out on a white horse and save the negotiations and broker the deal.

7. IMHO he is up for re-election in 2020 and needs to hide out.

My theory is based on nothing but my experience in watching him. Mitch thinks about Mitch first and he is worried that Cheeto could take him down in 2020. He does not want to be the face of this shutdown.
