Spin until you vomit for all I care, his words still stand as insane RW rhetoric against rape victims.

Nobody's accusing him of being too stupid to speak Amur'kan, just of being far right-wing batshit insane. As far as anyone knows, his English language skills are just fine. It's his thinking process that's thoroughly corrupted by a combination of fundamentalist, woman hating propaganda and white male privilege.

But go ahead, if you must, Teapublicans. Keep this alive right up until election day. Prove your point!

"Did not intend to take a side" is a fresh steaming pile of bullshit.

This is an issue where it is appropriate to take a side, and he took the wrong one. This is not an issue on which anyone should even be proud of not taking a side - there is a correct side! And you missed it, Dave! Jackass.

Women are usually asking for it, and if they get pregnant that's the proof, is about what he was trying to say, am I right?

There is still hope if they have any aspirations of keeping a neutral/journalism front up (for those not paying attention over the years).

John Harris, editor-in-chief of Politico, said in a staff memo on Monday that Catanese "crossed a line a reporter shouldn't cross on Twitter when he seemed to weigh in on the merits of Todd Akin's comments -- especially in a way many people, including many POLITICO colleagues, understandably found offensive."

"Dave's tweets on Akin created a distraction to his own work, and to the newsroom as a whole," Harris continued. "They also made himself part of the story, requiring us for now to remove him from Akin coverage."

On Monday morning, Catanese returned to Twitter and address the controversy he sparked while commenting on Akin's controversy. "Bad idea trying to have nuanced conversation on highly charged issue on here," Catanese wrote. "Did not intend to take a side. Lesson learned."

But for Politico's editors, that mea culpa apparently wasn't enough to keep him on the Missouri Senate race beat, an area of the political world Catanese knows well. Before joining Politico, Catanese worked at a Springfield, Missouri television station and ran the influential state political blog, The KY3 Political Notebook.
