1. Don't watch him or the cable noise channels

It has no impact on me. I do enjoy c-span and other aspects of cable service but don’t need their hyperventilating excuses for news.

Ignoring the situation only frustrates and does nothing.

For those who are angry about Todd, register your opinion. Be sure to give proper kudos for those on the network who DO a good job, though (and not ONLY Rachel).

I might remind the Chuck Todd detractors that he only got the gig after reviews of his short-lived predecessor (David Gregory) were so abysmal. Someone DOES see the complaints.

4. I don't watch MSNBC all day

I catch Joy when I can, and try to find time for Rachel and Lawrence. Too much TV isn’t good anyhow.

Edit: let me add, I’m glad that MSNBC doesn’t require their hosts to all follow the same ideology. Groupthink is always dangerous. And don’t you love that Trump’s biggest detractors on MSNBC are often Republicans? Because I do.

8. Indeed. Glad you mentioned group think...

Haven't heard that term in a while but it crosses my mind often when I look at our political environment these days. It really got a boost in 2001 and has been intensifying full scream ahead ever since.

And now look what happened.

On the R side of the world there is a decidedly strong case of group think going on and it kind of makes me wonder if a certain teevee network isn't engaging in hypnotics.

BTW, welcome to DU!

Todd is a highly paid puke news talker. Not a serious thinker or Questioner. No follow ups. Allows ranting.

9. Haven't had a teevee since 1980

But I do watch online and I don't really care to have a teevee-like sound in my environment they make a high pitched screee sounds that gives me headaches. And I get a lot more done without one distracting me anyway, there's only so much time in a day.

As for the toad, I don't care for him. He isn't real bright, is annoying in his demeanor and asks ignorant questions that are leading at best and outright inciting at their worst. I like the evening lineup and I try to pick one or two and call it good for the evening. Since breaking news has been coming up late, I try to catch an early one and a later show just in case now.

11. I don't hear the high pitches sound with newer TVs

With older TVs and computer monitors that used CRT technology, I often had problems with the annoying high pitch sound. The newer screen technologies have eliminated that problem. I know I can still hear that frequency; heard it yesterday while visiting a friend who was using one of his older computers.

BTW the frequency is 15734 Hz for NTSC video.

has eliminated a lot of that noise but I still hear security systems in some small stores and shops.

Didin't know what the frequency was, thanks!

His "both sides are equally guilty" bullshit helped put trump in office, just as sure as did Putin's efforts. He's #2 on my MSNBC termination list. (#1 is Chris Matthews, who is getting to the point he can barely hold a 1-hour show together. Retirement time, for sure.)

and I don't watch any of the weekend political shows. They really don't do anything for me and if something breaks or a really interesting direction is taken it's normally shared on one of the online spots I find myself at.

That said, when Trump gave his address the other night, Todd was the first one to comment on NBC afterward. If I remember correctly Lester Holt threw it to him. Todd only had about thirty or so seconds to speak but his initial reaction wasn't very flattering. This was his reaction after only hearing it live. He said it was nothing new. Said he wasn't sure why it required a prime time address. Said it sounded more like one of his stump speeches. It's exactly what my initial reaction was.

14. I would never quit MSNBC over one guy - doesn't matter who it is

Chuck Todd, yeah he's kind of a dork. But I really really hate Joe Scarborough and I just don't watch him. I still watch a lot of other people on MSNBC though, and I'm happy they're on there. Rachel, Lawrence, Chris Hayes, Ari Melber and (sometimes) Chris Matthews. Sometimes I even listen to Brian Williams.

I think Chuck Todd is trying to be as neutral, middle-of-the-road as he can, and we liberals on DU see him as way-too-conservative. He's got his regular gig on Meet The Press and he needs to be able to book the rightwing pols and pundits on his show. If they won't come on Meet The Press because they think he's liberal, Todd will get canned and somebody way more conservative (and lightweight) would get the nod.

Just sayin'
