Can Congress override Spanky's Veto?
The Govt needs to re-ooen. People will start dying soon. Look at the destruction done to the magnificent Joshua Tree National Park ! This NEEDS to end. The suffering and stress of the employees. This is just awful for them.
Please get them.back to work! Until then, for any and all millionaires out there, how's about ya throw $10k to your local food bank? The rest of us will do what we can.

1. Of course they can, if McConnell will let the bill go to the Senate for a vote.
Right now that's the problem. McConnell won't let the Senate take up the House bill because he knows Spanky will veto it - but the veto could be overridden and for some reason McTurtle doesn't want to risk that possibility.

2. YES! Comrade McConnell* needs to bring the bills to reopen government to the...
...Senate floor, where they should pass, as they have passed before. The bills would then go to the Orange Anus* for either signing or vetoing. If unsigned, they become law in 10 days. If vetoed, Congress conceivably would have the votes to override the Orange Anus* veto.
Problem is that Comrade McConnell* will not let the bills come to a vote. He's giving cover to tRump* and more importantly is giving cover to rethuglican* senators that don't want to be perceived as voting against tRump*, because they don't want to be primaried by MAGAts*. The end to this shutdown is truly in the rethuglicans* hands, no matter the bullshit they spew that states otherwise. |

6. Senate Republicans should demand a vote from McConnell or threaten him they'll switch parties
To give his position to someone who will. They should also stop all appointments and any legislation until after the government is reopened.
