Curious is it not that the furor over the Buzzfeed article has overshadowed the equally shocking story of Cohen rigging polls at Trump's direction? No one has negated or disputed the story that Cohen hired IT personnel to rig the online polls to keep the Boss happy or that he paid for those services with a bag of cash and a boxing glove, stiffing the tech company for the full $50,000 fee. A fee that Cohen was reimbursed for, according to WAPO.

Guiliani's statement was an immediate rebuff of the story with the added note that Cohen was into stealing money (don't look there, look over here). Furthermore, Cohen had a twitter account set up to make him appear favorable (sexy) to female voters. And even more curious, that tech firm--RedFinch Solutions owned by John Gauger--is connected to Liberty University.

All this hiding behind the Buzzfeed dustup because this is the beauty of disinformation.

So much winning.

I have to wonder if the Buzzfeed piece's sources were fed a plant by someone connected to Trump.

Look at who benefits.

I don't believe in coincidences when it comes to russia's minions.

She's very detailed and takes the reader several layers beyond what we normally read or hear through regular press outlets.

Mueller is not in an enviable position on this one but protecting Cohen's ability to testify? That would always be a big #1.

There is a lot of money at stake in Mueller's work, but even more power. He has to be watchful in so many ways.

Which is why (I think) he's handled the entire investigation so close to the vest. The investigation from everything I've read is huge, wrapping 'round global players who will not go into that dark night quietly. Anymore than Trumpski and his inner circle will quietly exit the stage.

We're witnessing a fight to the death; the ultimate end couldn't be more consequential. For all of us.

And the question as you mention is always: Who Benefits?

With this particular dustup you get a twofer: distract from the 'other' Cohen story and discredit the press with more 'fake news, fake news' chanting.

I found myself getting queasy when the one reporter on the Buzzfeed story admitted that they had never actually seen/read the documentation.

The Mueller team response doesn't say the entire article is false but that the 'details' on documentation are inaccurate.

But that's enough for the Trumpsters to score another round of chest beating while sowing more doubt about the press and the ongoing investigation.

Btw, I don't believe in coincidences either in this mess.
