(13,993 posts)the only thing I have heard of would be the Native American version of a witch.
Only bad people are such creatures. "Skinwalkers" in the Navajo tradition I believe.

(1,562 posts)who think evil thoughts, like the poster above 'skin walkers' from the Navajo and some tribes in the Pacific Northwest. They do not do 'curses' they do, however, believe that white people, especially like the ones who disrespected Grandfather Phillips, that they are not human, not people. Or that they are 'touched' that they are sick, unhealthy because they have lost their connection to Spirit and Nature. N8ives stay away from those who are 'touched' they are a physical people and would rather stay away or face them in person and deal with it.
They don't curse, but, they do pray...which is more powerful but takes a little longer!

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
