U.S. farmers may receive noticeably less in Trump tariff payments than originally expected, a senior USDA official said on Thursday...
...An estimated two thirds of the Trump payments were made by the start of January, said Agriculture Undersecretary Bill Northey on the Adams on Agriculture program, “a little over $5 billion of the maybe $8 billion that we expect we’ll make in mitigation payments.”
The payments, officially called the Market Facilitation Program, were created by the administration to offset the impact of the trade war on U.S. agriculture.

TRANSLATION: KGOP Comrade Dirty Donny* & his republican cronies took and used our hard-earned tax dollars to bribe farmer corporations with freebie handouts to keep them in the republican herd after the republicans screwed them by starting a pointless Trade War and LOSING bigly. The repubes are gaily handing out our money to pacify the farmers, thereby continuing to treat our farmers (and us taxpayers) as Super Suckers. And of course, as the story makes clear, the farmers are not getting what they were promised by the republicans. Typical cheat job (R).
By the way: republicans need to shut up about squandering our hard-earned tax dollars on the impotent medieval wall they want to build. They promised Mexico would pay. Republicans lied about Mexico. They lied to our farmers. And they lied to us.
