"I'm a woman vote for me."

Last edited Sun Jan 27, 2019, 03:05 AM - Edit history (1)

As if women have had the upper hand or as if women currently have the upper hand. Bernie's comments are sexist and tone deaf. Women have to work 4 times harder than men to climb the ladder and are NEVER forgiven for mistakes. Men enjoy being able to make serious mistakes and still continue. The notion that women have an upper hand just being a woman is not based on fact. It's insulting, tone deaf and sexist.

Also, it suggests that the women running are not eminently qualified, which they are. Squinch Jan 2019 #3

There have been numerous posts here on DU saying it's time for a woman, period. I'm not even trying to insert myself into thiss argument, but it's there. Apparently, as far as I can tell, it's time to break down the wall of penises. That's what's been posted here.

They are people of vast work and political experience. They accomplished great things BEFORE they became politicians AND they fight for people who are AND WHO ARE NOT just like them in gender or race.

Unlike some people we could name.
