SPRING TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Ku Klux Klan robe fetched a big sum at an auction in Snyder County.
According to the auctioneer, an anonymous collector purchased the KKK hood and robe for $3,000 at the Beaver Springs Auction Center on Saturday.
The auction center had received some negative feedback about the robe, including a call from a local pastor.
Auctioneers say someone sold the KKK gear on consignment. That means the seller gets the money from the sale, excluding a percentage to the auction house.

If that's not a place begging to be firebombed, I don't know what is.

(525 posts)that when people describe Pennsylvania as "Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburgh in the west, and Mississippi in the middle" they're not just being cute, or making a joke. It's an accurate description.
ETA: Howewver, I regularly find myself being grateful for the existence of "Florida Man", because w/out him "Pennsylvania Man" would be the most frequent subject of these 'news of the weird' stories.

(15,807 posts)This was outside of Poughkeepsie NY. A friend bought a farm house with a barn and this was a
"barn find" for sure.. It was in an old steamer trunk up in the loft. Nothing of real value.
We were getting rid of junk and we burned it...
