Anyone see an end to this madness?

Do you think Mueller will end this "presidency", or is 2020 our only hope?
Every single day brings fresh outrage and disgusting behavior. Every day more people are made to suffer real harm to their well being, and our planet is being destroyed. And still, every damn repug seems to support, some more enthusiastically than others, this orange slime that has taken over our country.
I have great hope for 2020, but would sure like this nightmare to end before then.

I don't think it will happen soon enough. He is a very thorough person, he will make sure he has everything he needs before he pulls the trigger. The worry is, that they will find a Republican who will placate the independents enough to beat us if we go far left. I don't see him as the candidate in 2020.

If forced retirement comes too late for the Reublicans to launch a real campaign.

I can see him running knowing he will lose and decide in 10/20 that one term is enough.
I think he would love to be followed by a Democrat so he could have big post presidential rallies where he mocks his successor.

I think the Republican Party has a contingency plan to any attempt to impeach Trump no matter what the Mueller report shows.

The plan would go something like this:

First, drag out the hearings as long as possible in the House of Representatives. The House Republicans are (as we speak) delaying appointments to the House Intelligence Committee in order to delay efforts to subpoena witnesses in the Russian Interference Probe. There will be more delaying tactics in the weeks to come.

Next, have McConnell stall or debate into oblivion whether the Senate should hold a trial on impeachment

drag it on until you ABSOLUTELY must hold the trial

During the trial argue that "It's too close to the 2020 election to impeach Trump...let the PEOPLE DECIDE!"

I'm no genius but this strategy reads in the cheap seats.
