Democrats’ H.R. 1 (the Democrat Politician Protection Act) proposes a massive federal takeover of elections. But neither the facts nor the opinions of American voters show any evidence of a crisis or emergency that would make this unprecedented step necessary.

Nancy Pelosi Retweeted Leader McConnell

It really tells you all you need to know about the priorities of Washington Republicans that a bill to make it easier to vote, increase government transparency, get dark money out of politics & empower working people in our elections is met with such disdain.

It's on the inner-tubes and the purveyors of ads (twitter, buckface.)

Our T.V. was last turned on around 5 years ago. I'm not bothered by the spewing of ads by mega-corporations and their lackey politicians. I know how to filter the crud that wants to seep into my internet browsers and can choose what I want to see and when.

T.V. and other lineal means of data dissemination such as radio are going out of business. Print at least lets you look at a headline or table-of-contents and decide what to consume.

with no desire to make you care about something you don't find important - I think it galls many of us that they have the nerve to repeatedly and knowingly deprive us of our proper collective name, and that they do it on the floors of both the Senate and the House.

I might be displeased if someone repugnant to me routinely called me "Farker" or "Barker" in a sneering manner.

more and more bitching about McTurtle! I see him as the driving force for the Republicans accepting IQ45 as their own - and then being the lead support for the Republican agenda being showcased by IQ45, but really being manipulated and directed by McTurtle himself.
HE is the man (sic) behind the curtain.
HE is the one that we must face in the fight to make things right.

It is time to CRUSH that shell - GET OUT THE VOTE and clean them all out!

....So this won't pass. Did Pelosi say "Oh well we shouldn't bother doing this since it has not chance of passing."? Did she worry about dry powder, or saving her bullets or whatever else? No. She put it through, got this clown on record addressing it, and the dialogue happened and people are talking about it.

See how easy that was/is? I'm so fucking glad to finally see our leaders learning not just from mistakes of the past, but taking pages out of the Republican playbook when it can be done without selling our souls.

Messaging, messaging, messaging, and gaining some control of the narrative.

Mitch is just upset because we're trying to tear down the means by which they built a Repug majority for the corporate world.

Corporate power all this free-market freak has ever been about. His lifeblood has always supporting Big Tobacco, Big Healthcare, or big anything that strips the public of power.
