people don't generally pick their nickname its bestowed on them.

And the name could refer to the fact that people around him thought he was too chummy with minorities.

Bottom line is we don't know...but we are willing to condemn

A favorite photo? A photo he was proud of and thought people should see because it came from a time before med school and he wanted med school colleagues to see who he was when he was younger?

I just believe that people can improve

I've known people to become less racist
I've known people to become less dogmatic about religion
I've known people to turnaround from drug use
I've known people who stop stealing
I've known people who stop adultery

I am willing to believe that he is a better man today.
