No excuse. Northam MUST GO

Racist shit in his past.

Denial now (weak at that).

New admission from HIM of blackface at a different time.

On the basis of the above alone, he MUST GO.

But there's more.

This will spread to the entire Democratic party.

He is sitting on a great replacement in Justin Fairfax.

Justin Fairfax could put a lock on the Virginia Governor's Mansion for at least the next eleven years (three years of Northam's term, four years of his own term, and four more of his Lt. Governor. At least.

His resignation will demonstrate Democratic values as the party pressures him to resign, in contrast to what the GOP does.

He MUST GO.

This is now bigger than him.

Ignore the possibilities of amends, forgiveness and redemption, and work to benefit the agendas of the reactionary bigots of the so-called “conservative Movement.”

I won’t.

Furthermore I’d say that all too many of the people stampeding towards this folly are being “inspired” by their muses at Vladimir Vladimirovich’s troll farms in St. Petersburg and elsewhere in the Russian Federation.

I’m going to say “Nyet”!

But that's a lot of work, so he should step down to focus on this task and let his Lt. Gov. - the young, dynamic black guy - take the reins (which I hardly think is the outcome the Republicans want)

of this circular firing squad behavior, and all too many of the party’s naifs are willing to play a sucker’s game.

This sort of right-wing behavior shouln’t be rewarded, any more than Mitch McConnell’s obstructionism. All too many inexperienced and credulous Democrats are willing to get out on the floor and dance the Mercer double-shuffle, thinking that those nice people from The Republican PACs is only playing fair.

Sorry, darlin’, I’m sitting out this number.

They weren't expecting the depth of outcry that has come from this. They hoped they could continue to use him for their whataboutism games. The last thing they want is for Northam to step down, turn over the governor's mansion to the brilliant, exciting young black guy, and take the stench of this with him when he goes.

I'm neither inexperienced nor credulous, so you can throw those insults elsewhere.

Wishing they’d used Reynolds Wrap tm instead. Governor Northam should stand his ground, make amends, and move on.

...following your math of 11 years....

Can you explain this exactly?

Fairfax serves out the remaining 3 years of Northam's term. Runs and is elected in his own right for 4 years (that's 7) and then watches his Lt Gov get elected for 4 more. That's the 11.
