The thing Trump hates more than anything else... being laughed at

Which is why, in unison, the Dems tonight should guffaw loudly whenever Trump delivers what he thinks is an applause line.

Laugh at him. Openly and loudly.

He is an insecure man who hates that people don't take him seriously..

...laugh at him. He won't be able to stand it.

We can fight for what we believe and we should, but acting like the people we find offensive is too much like schoolyard interactions. Also republicans will ironically use it against us even though they do the same thing. That is something they are very proficient at. We have to play by OUR rules, not theirs.

He was at least THINKING of running as early as 1988, back when he made the "I'd probably run as a Republican because their voters are stupid" statement.

Obama clowning Trump at a dinner had nothing to do with why he ran in '16. He was gonna do that anyway. The fact that anyone took him seriously is what we're all trying to figure out...

I was is a Headquarters Battery of an Artillery battalion. Most of the guys in our section were from the north east and relatively educated. We had a red neck sergeant from Mississippi who was going to teach us Yankees a lesson. He did what he could to make our lives miserable. Our solution was to snicker whenever we walked past him. In very short order he was in the Battery Commander's office crying about the men laughing at him.
I subscribe to the Mel Brooks remedy for dealing with a tyrant, ridicule.
In fact I would recommend pointing and laughing when confronted with Trumpinistas.

guaranteed to upset and anger him but the only appropriate and winning tactic.

A couple or few, because they're only a few, will be able to make a statement by walking out when he strikes at their home state or concerns, and I'm with you in guessing viewers will see that again.

Those watching won't be seeing all Democrats walking out of their own chamber, though. It would be both a terrible tactical mistake and an abrogation of duty. After all, he's required by the constitution to report annually to them. They invite him to their territory for him to report to them.

Dignified silence is the only answer, along with polite applause when appropriate.

This topic comes up every year and it is symbolic of the problem we'll face on 2020. It is not necessary to try to win every hour of every day. The idea is to remain as popular as possible with the American public and especially the swing voters. I have hosted enough debate watching parties to know how that type will react if we laugh at Donald Trump. We'll drop to his his level and allow the media to make that type of comparison.

A Republican shouted, "You lie," several years ago. Big deal. He made a fool of himself. Obama calmly handled it properly. But it's as if too many members of our party have been desperate for revenge ever since.

AOC, the Democrat queen of twitter snaps can have her phone out and be snapping out tweets calling out Dump for his lies and ignorance. Some Democrats could play SOTU Bingo with the winner leaping out of his/her seat and yelling BINGO! Other Democrats could play like they have bets riding on what Dump says and could take turns passing a dollar to one another. Democrats could sit there texting one another throughout the speech.

It is all about creativity and showing Dump how little people really think of him. I know that I would be sitting there on my phone surfing the net, reading a book or playing something like Words Like Friends.
