Anybody else pay attention to all three?
EDITED to change Abrams grade from C+. I saw her speech again and heard more focused points than I did earlier.

(9,874 posts)points with clear refutations. His speech was based in the most urgent issues facing this nation and planet. Stacey Abrams, while very capable and positive, did not adress much of the true state of the nation, in my view.

(3,363 posts)insult trump every chance you get. Her speech was meant to set an optimistic tone of what America really is about, not what Trump and Republicans want it to be.

(11,919 posts)I couldn't sit through all of the pussygrabber. Wouldn't have watched any, but Pelosi's expression and shuffling of paperwork did keep me from changing the channel for a while. Until MF45 stated that bullshit about Democrats cheering the ripping of babies crap. Changed the channel immediately. Fuck him, and fuck the rightwing morons who buy into that bullshit.
Abrams deserves an A+++. She's fucking great. That was the best rebuttal ever, PERIOD. Rarely does reading a speech seem like such natural conversation. I hope she gets a lot more airtime in the future, and it's a damn shame that republicons got away with stealing the governorship from her.
I have always been a great supporter of Bernie, and thought the content of his address to be right on target. Such as the point that MF45 and the right keep harping about MS13 while never EVER mentioning the Vegas shooter who murdered so many and wounded over 800. But I gotta say, Bernie's delivery had too many "uh"s, which don't make for the best delivery. He gets an A-
MF45 Pussygrabber gets an F-------------
Pelosi also should receive an A for sitting there with her testicle necklace, shuffling her papers, and being able to restrain herself while simultaneously being so close to Mother's husband and to tRump.

(5,272 posts)couple important things.
I agree about what Sanders brought though. He went straight down the list of so much of the hypocrisy, lies and omissions that Trump has engaged in in that SOTU and his Presidency, and he delivered it with the proper righteous indignation. Also lets be fair, Abrams had 10 minutes. Sanders rebuttal is much longer. That's the advantage of offering an additional rebuttal on a different platform.

(743 posts)I did listen to his response. I didnt need the SOTU mansplained to me but he obliged to none the less. Thanks Bernie! As a simple, silly woman - I needed that.

(5,272 posts)to Trump's policies and rhetoric is mansplaining?
I am impressed, that as tired as you are of Sanders and his "mansplaining" by talking to national issues, not a man's take on women's issues, nor to women about issues, nor for a woman on her behalf, etc. (yet its still mansplaining somehow) that you still decided to listen to his whole speech. Thank you for your sacrifice. I look forward to your slightly more detailed critique.

(33,643 posts)I give Bernie an extra full mark because his speech was a RESPONSE, whereas Abrams was 'The Democratic SOTU'. It was not truly a response. Hers was 100% pre-written, and possibly pre-recorded.
Whereas Bernie's was live ... although I'm sure a fair bit was pre-written just because you KNEW ... Trump wouldn't mention ... 95% of what Bernie said he wouldn't mention, which was a big part of his address. But there were also many elements of what Trump DID mention, which means it wasn't all pre-done. HIs team basically did a phenomenal job of having his address and rebuttal points ready.
I enjoyed both, but loved Bernie's ... a fair bit more. No bash on Abrams intended, she also did great. Bernie's crew had quite a bit more time to pull it together as well. When you go RIGHT after like Stacey did, it's a different deal.
