(24,128 posts)I'm sure you know. It used to be stuff like arugula, goat cheese, and during the 90s cilantro. Coconut oil has been popular of late, too.
But I'm with you--KALE?

(16,344 posts)Its not quite 4 am and there are nearly 3 of snow at NWS Portlands office and still falling so this event may actually have epic amounts of snow. (Less accumulation so far at my place in the hills but big fluffy flakes are falling fast!) Last night when I finally went to sleep it looked like this storm would be a huge bust.
The stores just got cleaned out. There were pictures of the Trader Joes that I shop at and the entire bread section was just...gone. Ditto the dairy case except for some cottage cheese and yogurt. The produce section was pretty bare. People definitely waited until the last minute then simply grabbed whatever was left.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
