If Fairfax is innocent, impeachment proceedings are his best option

Right now, I am slightly inclined to believe Justin Fairfax's accusers.
But Fairfax says he's innocent.

If he is innocent, the only way he can get his excellent lawyers involved is by being the subject of impeachment proceedings.
Fairfax's accusers will have to answer tough questions that they don't have to face at this point.

If he is guilty, his best option is resignation so he doesn't have to waste money on legal defense.
Comments please.

Because proving he's guilty could be a real challenge if the bar is "beyond reasonable doubt"

If the bar is like civil cases: "which party do the majority (or 2/3rds) believe" or ''preponderance of evidence'', then he's got a problem even if he's innocent because right now, I think public opinion is with his accusers who seem more credible. If the bar is “overwhelming preponderance of evidence”, I'm not so sure.

In the OJ Simpson cases, they had trouble convincing "beyond reasonable doubt" in the criminal case but no trouble believing the "'preponderance of evidence'' that it was probable OJ did it in the civil case.

More likely than not seems like an easier concept to grasp than preponderance of evidence.

7. With impeachment, I suspect it would be 2/3rds of the legislative body/senate

But since Republicans control the senate (21-19) and there won't likely be any white Republicans finding a black man innocent in that state - given their yearbooks, they would need 6 of 19 Dems to impeach Fairfax.

Beyond preponderance of evidence, politics might kick in if it looks like the Governor & AG will also have to resign due to racism ...

But like a traditional trial, permanent damage is done no matter the outcome.
