(28,837 posts)Trump must be concerned. No nickname for Amy? He calls her.... Amy.
LiberalBrooke
(527 posts)and she is extremely smart. The only negative they could find for a right wing hit piece is her management style which would be a plus for a male. Go Amy!

(47,567 posts)Various republican senators are praising her as "respectful" and "responsible" and calling attention to her willingness to compromise.
Shes a person of character and great ability. Shes the whole package. Thats probably too nice," Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.) said.
They are basically saying she is "republican light" so Democrats don't vote for her. Interesting tactic for a republican.

(53,410 posts)Dont stop! We all need all the help we can get to see clearly!
Republicans usually are this clever, but they do know how to push our buttons and we often let them. Now this has planted a seed in some voters minds, one that says Klobuchar is too moderate for Democrats and "too nice" to be a president. That's the problem with women politicians, if they are "nice, then they are viewed as weak. If they are "tough", they are mean and shrill. They did it to Hillary for thirty years and they are ready to go after our best and brightest now.

(47,567 posts)candidates they view as the greatest threat. I think we can gauge how good a candidate is by how knee-jerk and out of proportion a reaction we get from the right. Once they realized that Hillary was "inevitable", they pulled out their entire arsenal of dirty tricks, even using congress as a political tool, while receiving help from Russia as well.
This is different this time though, as we have a lot of good candidates, so they have to spread their crap around, and WE have control of the House. Meanwhile, the country seems to be ready for a strong woman candidate, so their usual female bashing isn't resonating with most of the country, much like the racist dog whistles didn't work in 2008 with Obama. The racists who couldn't handle a black man in the White House weren't enough to defeat Obama and I'm sure the insecure white males will be equally ineffective in 2020.

(15,139 posts)between weather and climate. Years ago I witnessed an idiot co-worker glance out the office window, note that it was an unusually cold day, and proudly proclaim that global warming is a myth. Too much exposure to rightwing media makes people stupid, and there are millions of them out there, Trump included. We're the laughingstock of the world.

(16,869 posts)Our country is infested with morons of this variety and, as you stated, right wing media is the source for much of this, although right wing politicians have also successfully defunded and dumbed down public education which feeds into this cycle of ignorance.

(16,786 posts)I met Amy back in 2005 after she announced she was running for Mark Dayton's Senate seat. Her beloved father, Jim, a writer for the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, was in Rochester a lot when Amy could not be there, which she was often during her csmpaign. Amy gets to Rochester as often as she could and was given a hug as well. I last saw Amy at the DFL State Convention and I asked about her dad, talked with her husband, John, and attended the Prince Party at one of the Ballrooms at the Khaler. Amy LOVES Prince.
Amy has the grit she spoke of at her announcement speech. She has credibility, a prosecutorial record in Hennipen County, as well in the Senate. She takes things head on and does not let go. She has faced down and put away people like Trump. If the Nominee going into the General, she will not back down. Amy will go toe to toe with Trump, and she will put him in his place.
