2015: Netanyahu goes to GOP Congress behind Obama's back for direct address

Remember this f*ckery?

Netanyahu addresses GOP US Congress without Obama's consent or permission.

Boehner and the GOP conspire with Netanyahu to orchestrate a very direct public insult and intentional slap in the face to the elected president of the United States, Barack Obama.

[link:How Netanyahu's speech to Congress has jeopardised US-Israel relations https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/feb/24/obama-binyamin-netanyahu-congress-speech-boehner-leaks?CMP=share_btn_tw|

I'm sorry Israel but I have not put this behind me. This was way over the line, even after Obama had engineered one of the largest US-Israeli aid packages ever. What was the point of this? Gratuitous insult? Power play? Just another opportunity for the GOP to sh*t on Obama?

I'm going to keep it in mind as context for current events.

I blame the Republicans who unilaterally invited him and Netanyahu for accepting.

After graduating from high school in 1967, Netanyahu returned to Israel to enlist in the Israel Defense Forces. He trained as a combat soldier and served for five years in an elite special forces unit of the IDF, Sayeret Matkal. He took part in numerous cross-border assault raids during the 1967–70 War of Attrition, rising to become a team-leader in the unit. He was wounded in combat on multiple occasions.[5] He was involved in many other missions, including Operation Inferno (1968), and the rescue of the hijacked Sabena Flight 571 in May 1972 in which he was shot in the shoulder.[18]

If my memory is correct he was the only Israeli casualty except for an elderly woman who was separated from the rest and put in a hospital.

I also haven't forgotten my Senator's (Schumer) betrayal. There were cars that carried racks atop calling him a traitor, driving around NYC. I read those began to make him nervous.

I have a lot of bad character traits. One is carrying a grudge, especially when it comes to mistreatment of Obama.
