Mine is Nicole Wallace. She doesn't go out of her way to bash those on the left (unlike a certain morning blowhard) and is straightforward in her criticisms of Trump. Also, in 2008 she refused to vote because of Sarah Palin. Wallace put country over not only party loyalty but also over her own personal ambition. You have to respect that.

(3,344 posts)I'd say Jennifer Rubin has been doing well, really going the extra mile to criticize Republicans and the conservative movement.
But I don't really trust any of them.
We'll see how they perform once Trump is gone.

(11,504 posts)She's turned out to be really pragmatic in recognizing that the only person who can beat Trump is a Democrat, so she's actively supporting a number of the potential nominees on our side, rather than pretending that a third party candidate can take him down.
That said, I fully expect her to be awful again in January 2021.

(44,497 posts)I remember back around 2014 at the height of the crisis in Ukraine we had a loud contingent who were sold by Russian state propaganda into spouting the Kremlin line on that matter.
Frum wrote an excellent piece for The Atlantic which absolutely savaged Russian propaganda regarding the Ukrainian crisis. I so wanted to post it here for the RT brigade but I figured the association Frum had with the Bush administration made it pointless.
In retrospect, I should have just gone ahead and posted it. I think Frum had a serious awakening lately.

(302 posts)I'd have to go with Nicole. Not only does she tear into Trump and the Republican party with glee every day, she refused to vote for McCain/Palin - the campaign she worked on! - when she saw how much of a fuck-up Palin was.
She explains it here on Lawrence O'Donnel's show (before she joined MSNBC as a host).

(44,497 posts)Did Trump cause them to do a double reflection on their ideology? Or was Trump simply a huge embarrassment and albatross to their ideology?
For example, people like Jennifer Rubin, Ana Navarro or David Frum (who wrote speeches for Dubya), are they still considered Republicans or conservatives? (I like all three, for the record). Or have they made a shift away from the right because of Trump?
On the other hand, people like Bill Kristol or George Will I don't foresee becoming any more left because of Trump. As representatives of the more intellectual wing of the Republican party/conservative ideology, I think they just hated being associated with someone as crass and simple minded as Trump.
